Consultation

For Individuals & Families

We know navigating behavioral health services can be overwhelming. Our consultation services and formal Diagnostic Assessments are available when an individual or family is seeking guidance or clarity about:

  • Their clinical diagnosis and understanding what this really means

  • What treatment approach or modality to seek and why

  • What level of care is likely to be most beneficial in addressing their particular situation, symptoms or challenges.

BHBH clinicians will often consult other important people in the patients life (with permission), which informs a more thorough understanding of their symptoms, strengths, and functioning.

You can expect that your clinician will provide direct feedback regarding clinical and diagnostic impressions, treatment recommendations and subsequent referrals.

For Clinicians

Consultations are typically sought when clinicians or practitioners with primarily clinical responsibilities recognize conditions or situations that are beyond their level of expertise or available resources.

Consultation can be provided as a one-time commitment, or on an as-needed basis. Supervision topics have included increasing competency in DBT, CBT for pain and sleep, integrative Eating Disorder treatment, and beginning or expanding a private practice (business consultation).

For Organizations

BHBH Co-Founders provide consultation to any organization hoping to expand their knowledge on mental health issues, program development, or provide specialized trainings for students or staff members. We have consulted with clinical agencies, health organizations, training programs, local private and public schools, and private-equity firms.
